Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Ramage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Gu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young Gu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon Ramage! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Young Gu! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gu misses with a straight left. Gu walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ramage checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ramage throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gu lands with an overhand left. Gu misses with a left hand and Ramage counters with a good low kick that Gu was not able to check. Gu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ramage's hands. Gu jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ramage blocks a low kick nicely. Gu works the jab nicely. Ramage shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gu counters with a stiff right hand. Ramage drops his hands momentarily and Gu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gu moves into range and connects with a jab. Ramage's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ramage scrambles back to his feet. A lazy left from Gu finds it's target. Gu pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gu throws a low kick, looking for Ramage's leg but Ramage calmly moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ramage. Ramage circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ramage misses with a takedown attempt and Gu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ramage avoids the body shot from Gu.
Gu swats away the attempt to clinch by Ramage. Gu is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ramage had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Ramage moves away from the strike by Gu. Ramage tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gu paws at him with a jab and circles away. and Ramage counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Ramage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gu tries to avoid it but Ramage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gu to the ground. Gu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gu scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ramage to see if he's OK. Gu has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Gu throws a leg kick which misses Ramage's front leg but catches the back leg as Ramage tries to avoid it. Gu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Gu misses with a two punch combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramage tries for a takedown but Gu circles away easily and Gu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gu. Gu trying to control but Ramage is working from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Young Gu dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Gu scores with a hook. Gu listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ramage fails in his attempt to clinch. Ramon Ramage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gu tries a low kick but Ramage avoids it. Gu dips to his left and cracks Ramage with an uppercut! Gu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ramage to the ground. Gu is now in Ramage's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gu landing some decent shots from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramage can't keep his opponent in guard - Gu advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gu connects with a nice short shot to Ramage's temple. Gu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ramage is refusing to be controlled, as Gu sits in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gu connects with a nice short shot to Ramage's temple. Gu is nestled in close to Ramage, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gu looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ramage with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Gu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Oh Ramage is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gu is nestled in close to Ramage, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gu lands with a punch from half guard. Young Gu has got the better of the ground game so far. Gu slips a nice elbow through Ramage's hands, connecting with Ramage's forehead. That's three minutes gone in the round. Gu scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ramage is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gu can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
