Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edwards comes to the cage accompanied by Feiticeira. Jose Torres has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Torres!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edwards takes the fight into the clinch.
Torres taking a breather.

Torres pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Torres forces Edwards back against the cage and clinches.
Torres drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Torres.
Torres is trying to break the clinch but Edwards has him pressed against the cage.

Torres escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Edwards fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Torres moves into the clinch successfully.
Torres goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Torres breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Edwards with that takedown attempt.

Torres fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Edwards, pushing him back against the cage.
Torres is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Edwards has Torres pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Torres manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Torres escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Edwards tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Torres manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Torres is looking to clinch but Edwards is avoiding it.

Edwards drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Torres gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Torres manages to break the clinch.
Edwards closes this distance looking for a takedown but Torres circles away.
Edwards throws a right hand that Torres ducks under and follows up with a left that Torres also avoids with ease.

Edwards tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Torres tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Edwards swivels and escapes.

Jose Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edwards misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Torres is defended easily by Edwards.
Torres fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Edwards.

Torres looking to score a takedown here. Edwards is defending well but Torres drives through and ends up in Edwards's guard.

Torres decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Edwards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Torres pinned against the cage. Torres gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Torres lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Josh Edwards is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Edwards wants to clinch up but Torres keeps it at a distance.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Torres is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Edwards is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Edwards has escaped and now he's on top!

Torres trying to keep a closed guard but Edwards is proving a slippery customer.

Torres escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Edwards controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Torres looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Edwards working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Torres's head.
Edwards postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Torres is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Torres is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Edwards is not content to let Torres control the position.

Edwards tries to kick Torres off but Torres keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Jose Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Edwards. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Torres has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Edwards clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Torres has got one arm under Edwards's chin. This could be trouble... Edwards trying to control the other hand but Torres gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Edwards has tapped out! The fight is over!
