Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilgrim tries to clinch there but Gurel circles away.
Gurel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pilgrim stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pilgrim takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gurel scores with a nice right hand.
Pilgrim avoids the head kick by Gurel.
Pilgrim stuffs the takedown attempt from Gurel. Gurel gets slowly back to his feet.
Gurel throws a head kick that misses
and Pilgrim counters by clinching up.
Pilgrim breaks from the clinch.
Pilgrim moves into the clinch successfully.
Gurel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gurel circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gurel throws a hook but Pilgrim blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pilgrim closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pilgrim lands in his opponent's guard.
Gurel has his foot on Pilgrim's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pilgrim works his way back into a safe position though.

Gurel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pilgrim decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gurel, up you get!
Gurel thuds a left hand into Pilgrim's body.
Gurel tries to clinch there but Pilgrim circles away.

Gurel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gurel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Billy Pilgrim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Gurel.

Gurel drives through and clinches with Pilgrim against the cage.

Pilgrim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gurel.

Pilgrim shoots in and drives through. Gurel sprawls well.

Gurel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pilgrim is working away from the top position though.

Gurel wants to sweep but Pilgrim has passed to side control!
Gurel manages to get back to half guard.
Gurel tries to roll over but Pilgrim keeps him under control.

Gurel lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

A big left from Gurel misses.
Gurel throws a right hand that Pilgrim ducks under and follows up with a left that Pilgrim also avoids with ease.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Pilgrim enables Gurel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pilgrim manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pilgrim lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gurel!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pilgrim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gurel on the ground.
BOOM! Pilgrim connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Gurel will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gurel rushes Pilgrim and presses him up against the cage.
Gurel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pilgrim fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Gurel swats away the attempt to clinch by Pilgrim.
Gurel lands a head kick. Pilgrim smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Gurel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A telegraphed right hand from Gurel misses the target.
Gurel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pilgrim crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gurel - the referee stops the clock and Pilgrim gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gurel. Pilgrim manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Pilgrim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gurel lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pilgrim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Gurel is trying to keep Pilgrim in close.
Pilgrim gets to his feet. Gurel looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pilgrim tries to close the distance and clinch but Gurel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gurel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gurel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gurel swings around for an armbar but Pilgrim sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gurel's guard.

Gurel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pilgrim as he avoids it easily.
Pilgrim changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gurel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Billy Pilgrim.
I think Gurel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
