Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ong throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yornutz.
Ong tries for a takedown but Yornutz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yornutz moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Joey Ong has been cut.

Ong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yornutz as he avoids it easily.
Yornutz shoots in for a takedown but Ong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ong has managed to clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Ong counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Yornutz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yornutz wants it to stay on the feet.

Yornutz dives in and grabs Ong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ong pushes down on Yornutz's head and hops out.

Ong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yornutz's waist but Yornutz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ong off to one side.

Ong has Yornutz up against the cage in a clinch.
Ong lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Ong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yornutz throws a head kick that misses.
Nice takedown defense from Yornutz. No joy for Ong on that attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yornutz shoots in and drives through. Ong sprawls well.
Ong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yornutz swivels and escapes.
Ong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yornutz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ong circles away quickly and effectively.

Yornutz shoots for a double leg takedown but Ong sprawls well. He's pushed Yornutz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ong.

Bustin Junior Yornutz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yornutz throws a right hand that Ong ducks under and follows up with a left that Ong also avoids with ease.

Yornutz lands a nice shot to the body.
Ong dives in and grabs Yornutz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yornutz pushes down on Ong's head and hops out.
Ong digs a good body shot into Yornutz's ribs.

Ong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Yornutz is pressed up against the cage. Ong has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yornutz down to the mat. Yornutz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ong has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ong shoots for a takedown but Yornutz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice takedown defense from Ong. No joy for Yornutz on that attempt.
Yornutz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ong. That one must have hurt.

Ong darts in and clinches Yornutz up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joey Ong will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Ong moves into range and clinches up with Yornutz.
Ong has Yornutz pressed against the cage, preventing Yornutz from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Yornutz is trying to push Ong away but Ong has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Yornutz is trying to break the clinch but Ong has him pressed against the cage.

Ong drags the fight down to the ground.

Ong throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yornutz trying to control the position from guard on top but Ong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ong looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Ong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yornutz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yornutz's guard.

Yornutz can't keep his opponent in guard - Ong advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ong passes to full mount!
Yornutz is breathing heavily.
Yornutz avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ong.
Ong controlling his opponent.
Yornutz wants to hold on but Ong pushes him away.

Yornutz is bucking up trying to escape but Ong cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ong throwing strikes here but Yornutz is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Ong content just to control the position here.
Ong has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ong gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Bustin Junior Yornutz seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Yornutz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ong.
Ong throws a nice looking combination but Yornutz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Yornutz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yornutz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ong.
Yornutz shoots in looking for a takedown but Ong manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yornutz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ong throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ong closes the distance and clinches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ong takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yornutz throws a right and a left that Ong avoids nicely.

Ong clinches.

Ong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yornutz tries to avoid it but Ong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yornutz to the ground. Yornutz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Yornutz drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Ong right on the button. Ong goes down! Yornutz follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Yornutz gets the win via TKO!
