Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Doug Hoskins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kilgore Trout!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoskins moves in looking to clinch but Trout pushes him off.
Hoskins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hoskins looks to clinch
and Trout counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Doug Hoskins has been cut.
Hoskins shoots for a takedown but Trout saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Trout gets a double leg takedown into Hoskins's guard.

Trout stands up from Hoskins's guard - Trout perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hoskins slips a jab and a cross from Trout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hoskins tries for a takedown but Trout circles away easily

and Trout holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Trout has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hoskins clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Trout controlling the positon.

It looks like Trout might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hoskins grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Trout working for a choke but Hoskins is defending well.

Trout is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Hoskins is trying to break free.
Trout wants to control but Hoskins is keeping busy.

Hoskins defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Trout's arms.

Trout keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hoskins avoids the head kick by Trout.
Hoskins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Trout.

Trout fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hoskins to the ground. Trout is now in Hoskins's guard.

Trout is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hoskins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hoskins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Trout seems keen to control Hoskins's posture.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Trout fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hoskins checks it well.

Hoskins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Trout controlling the pace.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kilgore Trout.

and Trout counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Trout.

Trout scoring with punches to the head and body.
Hoskins is looking to stand up but Trout isn't so interested in that idea.
Trout works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Trout is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Trout stands up and beckons Hoskins to join him on the feet.

Trout drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hoskins working a defensive guard but Trout manages to pass into side control anyway.
Hoskins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Trout content to control rather than advance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trout has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hoskins tries to roll over but Trout keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kilgore Trout showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Hoskins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Trout fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hoskins sprawls well initially but Trout persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hoskins is in trouble now - Trout has advanced to mount!

Trout moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hoskins has worked his arm free - good work by Hoskins!

Trout stands up.
Hoskins bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trout checks a leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Trout leaves Hoskins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Trout looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Trout is taking a breather. Hoskins says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trout passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trout lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Trout is trying to get an arm triangle but Hoskins is defending well.
Hoskins is trying to control Trout's posture but Trout avoids it.
Trout in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Trout cracks Hoskins with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Trout decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hoskins to his feet.
Trout avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Trout shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hoskins wants to improve his position but Trout is controlling well.

Trout seems to be looking for submissions.

Hoskins is looking to improve his position.
Trout with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Trout landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Hoskins wants to control but Trout is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Doug Hoskins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well, if Trout is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kilgore Trout is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Trout wants to pass to mount but Hoskins is defending the position.

Kilgore Trout comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Trout has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
