Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Nicleson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for James Anderson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Nicleson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicleson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Anderson has his takedown stuffed

and Nicleson counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard.
Nicleson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nicleson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Nicleson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nicleson looking to pass the guard.
Nicleson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Nicleson.

Nicleson darts in and clinches Anderson up against the cage.
Anderson is trying to break free.
Anderson tries to land knees in the clinch but Nicleson avoids the damage to the body.

Nicleson has hold of one of Anderson's legs. Anderson is fighting the takedown attempt but Nicleson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Anderson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nicleson controls the pace.

Anderson controls Nicleson momentarily but Nicleson frees himself.
Nicleson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Nicleson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Nicleson stands up from Anderson's guard - Nicleson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nicleson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anderson.

Nicleson clinches up with Anderson and pushes him back against the cage.

Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Nicleson is controlling him.

Nicleson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nicleson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but Nicleson persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown but Nicleson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anderson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Nicleson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nicleson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicleson drives through and clinches with Anderson against the cage.

Nicleson tries to keep at a distance but Anderson has taken the fight into the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Nicleson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Nicleson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Anderson's head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.

Nicleson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Anderson manages to pass to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because James Anderson just wasn't active enough.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nicleson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nicleson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because James Anderson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Horrible takedown by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Nicleson which made him look bad.

and Nicleson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nicleson.

Nicleson manages to pull guard.
Nicleson keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully.
Jack Nicleson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nicleson pulls Anderson in close to his closed guard and prevents Anderson from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Anderson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Anderson tries to clinch up but Nicleson circles away and keeps his distance.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jack Nicleson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Nicleson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Anderson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nicleson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nicleson wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position.
Nicleson postures up and lands a big shot to Anderson's brow.
Anderson lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Nicleson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nicleson prevents Anderson from getting back to his feet.

Jack Nicleson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Nicleson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
