The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bellator changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zalk tries to avoid it but Bellator manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zalk to the ground. Zalk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bellator has Zalk up against the cage in a clinch.
Zalk looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Zalk tries to break free but Bellator pushes him back against the cage.
Zalk decides to pull guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Bellator is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Zalk has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Zalk!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brandon Zalk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
