The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deftone closes the distance but Basheer moves to the side
so Basheer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Deftone keeping moving, preventing Basheer from controlling successfully.
Basheer postures up in Deftone's guard and throws a big left but Deftone blocks it.
Basheer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Deftone works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Basheer wants to pass the guard but Deftone is keeping the position.
Deftone keeping moving, preventing Basheer from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ahmad Basheer.
Deftone fails with an attempt to clinch.
Basheer is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Deftone Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Basheer is out cold, face down on the mat!
