The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens ducks under a wild hook from Roach.
Stevens fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Roach throws a hook but Stevens blocks it.

The fighters circling - Stevens throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Stevens wants to stand but Roach is controlling his posture from full guard.
Stevens is looking to work some ground and pound but Roach has wrist control.
Roach lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stevens!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Roach is looking to work his way around to Stevens's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Stevens suckers Roach into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Stevens is now in Roach's guard!

Roach has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Roach had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stevens defends it easily.
