Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Baraka Simengwa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrius Colrane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simengwa comes to the ring accompanied by Afande Sele feat Ditto - Darubini kali. Baraka Simengwa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Baraka Simengwa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Demetrius Colrane!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simengwa dodges the punch combination from Colrane.

Simengwa rushes Colrane and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Simengwa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Colrane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Colrane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Simengwa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Colrane defends well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Colrane connects with a nice short shot to Simengwa's temple.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Colrane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simengwa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Colrane cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Simengwa has his foot on Colrane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Colrane works his way back into a safe position though.

Colrane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Simengwa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Colrane has managed to get both his arms back between Simengwa's legs - danger averted.
Colrane is working Simengwa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Simengwa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Colrane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Simengwa enables Colrane to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Simengwa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
