Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodney Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson misses the body punch

and Wallace counters by clinching up.
Nelson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wallace is defending well.

Nelson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wallace throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wallace scores with a one two! Nelson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wallace throws a low kick but Nelson avoids it.

and Wallace counters by clinching up.
Wallace is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Nelson is defending well.

Nelson breaks from the clinch.
Wallace shoots in and drives through. Nelson sprawls well.
Wallace lands with an uppercut that bounces Nelson off the cage and back into range.
Nelson misses with a wild combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nelson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Nelson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wallace. Wallace circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Nelson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Nelson looks to land a right hand but Wallace moved out of range.
Nelson swings for the body but Wallace moves out of range.

Wallace misses with a head kick.
Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wallace moves away.
Nelson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wallace.

Nelson gets caught napping as Wallace dives in and scores a takedown. Nelson manages to retain guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Rodney Wallace has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Nelson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wallace's guard.
Wallace controls Nelson momentarily but Nelson frees himself.

Wallace has his foot on Nelson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nelson works his way back into a safe position though.

Nelson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wallace not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nelson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wallace is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nelson staying calm.
Wallace throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wallace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nelson manages to avoid it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wallace.
Nelson cracks Wallace with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nelson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wallace stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nelson as he avoids it easily.
Good work by Nelson as he checks the leg kick.

Rodney Wallace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wallace has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
