Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie McStar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice. Robbie McStar is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Lath Hoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie McStar!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoy throws a body punch but McStar moves out of range.

Hoy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McStar to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hoy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hoy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but McStar is one step ahead there.
Hoy has momentary wrist control but McStar slips an elbow through the middle.
McStar throwing strikes but missing.
Hoy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McStar's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McStar wants to sweep here but Hoy controlling him for the moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hoy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McStar wants to stand but Hoy is controlling the position.
Hoy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McStar's guard.
McStar is looking to improve his position.
McStar manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoy trying to control the position from guard on top but McStar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lath Hoy just wasn't active enough.
McStar shoots in for a takedown but Hoy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hoy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Lath Hoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbie McStar.
McStar shoots in but no luck this time.

McStar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

McStar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hoy moves away.

Hoy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hoy wants it to stay on the feet.
Hoy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hoy misses with an uppercut. McStar saw that one coming.
McStar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoy sprawls well. Hoy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McStar gets slowly back to his feet.

McStar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hoy lands with a cross.
Hoy connects with a body shot that sends McStar's belly button to the back.
Hoy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice uppercut lands for Hoy. That snapped McStar's head back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McStar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hoy throws a jab but it's blocked by McStar.
Hoy connects with a body shot.
Hoy cracks McStar with a good jab.

Lath Hoy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hoy tests McStar's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hoy leaves McStar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hoy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McStar was well out of range. Poor timing from Hoy.

Hoy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McStar, who protects the arm well.
Lath Hoy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hoy is looking to take a break and control but McStar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McStar is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hoy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hoy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McStar is on top in guard.

McStar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McStar has managed to get both his arms back between Hoy's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McStar wants to control from the top but Hoy keeps moving.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

McStar shoots for a double leg takedown but Hoy sprawls well. He's pushed McStar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hoy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hoy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hoy throws a hook to the side of McStar's head but McStar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lath Hoy.
Well Hoy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
