Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Austin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rich Silva! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nice takedown defense from Austin. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Austin stuffs the takedown. James Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Austin sends Silva crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Austin is motioning to the referee to let Silva up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Austin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. James Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Silva. Silva ducks under a wild hook from Austin. Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Austin, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Austin against the cage but Austin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A punch combination from Austin misses. Austin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Silva looks gassed! Austin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Austin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Silva takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Austin cracks Silva with a big right hand and Silva goes down!
That's one minute gone in the round. Austin is stalling in the full guard. Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Silva keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully. Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet. Austin advances position into side control! Austin decides to take the fight back to the feet. Nice combo by Austin! Oh, that's hurt him - Silva falls to the canvas and Austin follows him into side control.

It looks like Rich Silva has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Austin misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Austin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Austin tries to move into full mount but can't pass Silva's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Austin is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Silva stops Austin from passing to mount. Austin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there. Silva manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Silva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Austin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva works his foot free and advances to mount. Austin wants to control but Silva is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Austin gets back to half guard. Silva slips a nice elbow through Austin's hands, connecting with Austin's forehead. Austin trying to control from the bottom.
Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Austin is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Austin is working hard here to advance position. Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Austin is defending well.

Silva passes the guard and advances to mount! Silva is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Austin is in real trouble.
Austin breaks Silva's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Austin wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Austin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Austin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Silva keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Austin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rich Silva's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Austin thows a body shot but no joy. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Austin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Austin throws a right and a left that both miss. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Austin, as that shot connected.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Austin tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Austin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. James Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Silva. Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Austin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva. Austin tests Silva's chin there with a solid looking shot. Silva shoots in and drives through. Austin sprawls well. Austin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The fighters circle momentarily. Austin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Austin as he jumps to the side. Austin lands with an overhand left. Austin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around? Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Austin.
Silva shoots in but Austin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Austin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva tries to advance position but instead Austin slips a leg back in to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Austin moves into full guard.
Austin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silva forces his way into half guard. Austin is in trouble now - Silva has advanced to mount! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Austin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Austin turns into him and now he's in Silva's guard.

James Austin dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Rich Silva's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Danga de danga de dang - Austin scores with a four punch combination! Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Austin which made him look bad. Austin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Austin ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. James Austin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Austin fails to land with a series of punches.
Austin looks to land a combination. Silva sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Austin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Austin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

He's got hold of a leg but Austin swivels and escapes. Austin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva. Silva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Austin jabs Silva right on the nose. Silva blinks but takes it well. Silva walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Austin stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. Nice straight punches there by Austin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Austin.

Austin takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses. Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Austin circles away. Silva has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Austin sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A left and a right from Austin both land. Nice combination. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Austin as he avoids it easily. Silva drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Austin throws a right and a left that both miss. Austin scores with a hook to the body. Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Austin is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Austin circles away and we're back to standing. Austin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Austin lands a slapping body shot.
Austin stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Austin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that's the end of the fight! James Austin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Austin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
