Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Night Owl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Panos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owl comes to the cage accompanied by Dead man Gun. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panos looks to land a combination but Owl avoids it well.
Owl misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Panos tries to bum rush Owl with a series of wild strikes but Owl uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Panos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Owl.
Panos dodges the punch combination from Owl.
Horrible takedown by Panos or perhaps it was just good defense by Owl which made him look bad.

and Owl counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Night Owl.
Nice takedown defense from Panos. No joy for Owl on that attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Owl. Those never looked like landing.
Owl jabs Panos to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Owl misses with a kick to the body.
Panos moves in looking to clinch but Owl pushes him off.
Panos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Owl avoids it really well and circles away.
Owl throws a head kick that misses.
Panos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Owl manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Owl goes for a takedown in the clinch but Panos prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Night Owl. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Owl is trying to push Panos away but Panos has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Owl tries a body shot but Panos blocks it.
Owl tries to pull guard but Panos forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Panos swings wildly with an uppercut but Owl uses good head movement to avoid it.
Owl tries to land knees in the clinch but Panos avoids the damage to the body.
Panos prevents Owl from breaking the clinch.
Owl blocks an uppercut.
Panos lands with a short punch from the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Panos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Panos tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Panos swings wildly with an uppercut but Owl uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Night Owl dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Panos tries to kick Owl off but Owl keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Owl uses his free foot to push down on Panos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Panos.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Owl tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Panos tries to reverse the position but Owl maintains control.

Panos tries to lock up and control but Owl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Panos is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Panos is breathing heavily.

Owl looking to isolate an arm here. Panos doesn't see it coming and as Owl extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Owl!
