The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Perez. No joy for The Kid on that attempt.
Nice shot lands for Perez.
The Kid closes this distance looking for a takedown but Perez circles away.
The Kid changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perez tries to avoid it but The Kid manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perez to the ground. Perez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy The Kid. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Excellent takedown into side control there by The Kid.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The Kid tries for a kimura but Perez is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Perez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The Kid thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The Kid working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Perez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked The Kid off and has taken his back!
Perez has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. The Kid is defending well but eventually Perez manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! The Kid has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

A less than humble Richard Perez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
