The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza darts in and clinches Diaz up against the cage.
Diaz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Diaz is trying to push Souza away but Souza has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Diaz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Souza is pressed up against the cage. Diaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Souza down to the mat. Souza avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maikel Da Silva Souza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Diaz.
Diaz throws a jab but it's blocked by Souza.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range.
Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Souza, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Souza against the cage but Souza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Diaz throws a hook but Souza avoids it easily.

Oooooh!!! Souza has knocked Diaz down with a huge combo! Souza steps away and waves a wobbly Diaz back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Diaz is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Souza screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
