Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mckenzie comes to the cage accompanied by Skillet- I'm Awake and i'm Alive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckenzie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maxwell's waist but Maxwell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mckenzie off to one side.
Mckenzie shoots for a double leg takedown but Maxwell sprawls well. He's pushed Mckenzie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mckenzie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maxwell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mckenzie is in Maxwell's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mckenzie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mckenzie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
