Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Shadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Shadows! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Miller! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller looks for the body kick but Shadows saw that one coming. Miller motions for Shadows to come forward. Miller throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Miller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shadows. Miller dips to his left and cracks Shadows with an uppercut! Miller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shadows. Shadows shoots for a takedown but Miller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Shadows. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shadows closes the distance and clinches up with Miller, looking for a takedown. Shadows pushes Miller against the cage but Miller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shadows crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Miller - the referee stops the clock and Shadows gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Miller. Shadows manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Miller misses with a low kick as Shadows jumps back. Miller scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shadows drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Miller wants to stand and escape but Shadows is having none of it. Miller is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Shadows throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller wants to get back to his feet but Shadows is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Shadows drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shadows jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shadows throwing strikes but missing. Shadows working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Miller is looking to stand up but Shadows isn't so interested in that idea. Shadows pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth. Shadows throws a big right hand that misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shadows tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard. Miller wants to stand and escape but Shadows is having none of it. Shadows thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Miller keeping moving, preventing Shadows from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shadows is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Shadows is breathing heavily. Miller wants to get back to his feet but Shadows is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Miller keeping moving, preventing Shadows from controlling successfully. Miller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shadows is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shadows advances position into side control! Miller is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Shadows asserts his dominance and retains side control. Shadows wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miller, who protects the arm well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Shadows looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. This has been an exciting period of action! Shadows is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miller knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Shadows wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miller, who protects the arm well. Miller tries to escape but Shadows is in control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miller throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Shadows shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miller as he avoids it easily. Shadows dives in and grabs Miller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes down on Shadows's head and hops out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miller scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Shadows will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller lands a nice looking body kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Miller. That's going to slow Shadows down. Miller tries to land a front kick but Shadows steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Miller lands an overhand right. Miller misses with a body kick. That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Miller lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shadows doesn't seem phased though. Shadows on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A good leg kick by Miller. Jim Miller seems to be getting the better of the standup. Miller scores with a jab. Miller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shadows's calf. Miller throws a head kick that misses. Shadows needs to keep his hands up - Miller had a free shot at his head there. Miller misses with an attempted mid kick.
Shadows is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
