Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Cardozo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Cardozo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardozo blocks a head kick by Anderson.
Anderson throws the kick towards the body but Cardozo avoids it.
Cardozo looks for a takedown but Anderson sprawls well.
Cardozo wants to clinch.
Oscar Cardozo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cardozo but Cardozo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cardozo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Anderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cardozo defends it nicely.

Anderson forces Cardozo back against the cage and clinches.

Cardozo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Anderson after a bit of a struggle.
A frustrated look appears on Cardozo's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Anderson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the fighters up against the cage, Anderson throws an elbow but misses.
Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cardozo digs a right hand into Anderson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Anderson's gas tank.
Cardozo jumps guard but Anderson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cardozo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Anderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cardozo has closed the distance and engaged Anderson in a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Anderson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cardozo's brow.
Cardozo lands a nice knee to the body.
Cardozo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anderson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cardozo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cardozo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Anderson smiles and moves away.

Cardozo shoots in and bounces Anderson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Anderson is breathing heavily.
Cardozo trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom.

Cardozo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Anderson trying to hold on to Cardozo's head to control him but Cardozo postures up.
Cardozo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cardozo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cardozo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oscar Cardozo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Cardozo shoots for a takedown but Anderson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Oscar Cardozo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cardozo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cardozo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cardozo stays in close to Anderson's body and controls the position.
Cardozo pushes down on Anderson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Anderson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Cardozo is working for a kimura but Anderson is defending it quite comfortably.

Cardozo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

I would just about give that final round to Oscar Cardozo.
Well Cardozo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
