Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
White wants to improve his position but Rodriguez is controlling well.
Rodriguez is taking a breather. White says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We're going to have a standup here because Ricardo Rodriguez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
White tries to clinch but Rodriguez moves out of range.
Rodriguez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in White's guard.

White throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rodriguez uses it to pass to side control.
White takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
White tries to buck Rodriguez off but Rodriguez is having none of it.
Rodriguez is trying to get an arm triangle but White is defending well.
White seems a little lost for a moment, as Rodriguez dominates the positioning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rodriguez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt White will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rodriguez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
White fails with an attempt to clinch.

Rodriguez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rodriguez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into White's guard.
Rodriguez prevents White from getting back to his feet.
Rodriguez stands up from guard. Let's bang!
White gets a clinch.
Rodriguez effectively controlling the action here.

White misses with some punches.
White is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rodriguez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip White to the mat. White regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
White throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rodriguez escapes and throws White's legs to the side, diving into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rodriguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but White is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
White tries to improve position but can't.

White is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rodriguez prevents White from escaping the position.
Rodriguez is trying to get an arm triangle but White is defending well.
White is looking to regain half guard here but Rodriguez keeps moving and retains side control.
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
White is trying to work for a sweep but Rodriguez has mounted him!

Rodriguez has hold of White's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and White manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
White moves to clinch but Rodriguez breaks away
and Rodriguez counters by clinching up.
Rodriguez has clasped his hands together around White's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
White is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
White is looking to get back to his feet here but Rodriguez is keeping cool and he's managed to take White's back.
Rodriguez working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. White is doing well to defend. Rodriguez seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! White is forced to tap and this one is over!
