Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JO joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dennis Sims!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, JO joe!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
joe waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Sims.

Sims scores with a takedown into joe's guard.
joe keeping moving, preventing Sims from controlling successfully.
Sims loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sims seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
joe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sims trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sims trying to control the position from guard on top but joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
joe throws a series of punches but Sims avoids them all with ease.

joe tries to keep at a distance but Sims has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sims manages to break the clinch.

Sims shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sims was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sims will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
joe really wants to buck Sims off and get back to his feet.
Sims looking to control and managing it successfully.
Sims trying to control but joe is having none of it.
Sims throws some wild stikes that joe manages to avoid easily.

Sims connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
joe is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sims sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sims seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down joe for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sims is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. joe can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
joe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sims is in the full mount, landing strikes.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - joe has eaten all the pies!

That's time! Sims's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts joe, as that shot connected.

Sims tries to pull guard but joe won't allow it.
Sims looking for a takedown.

joe keeping moving, preventing Sims from controlling successfully.
Sims has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sims slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sims prevents joe from escaping the position.
Sims wants to control but joe is keeping him busy.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dennis Sims just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
joe misses with a double jab.

Sims drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sims controls the position.
joe wants to get back to his feet but Sims drags him back down.
Sims in side control, just content to control the action for now.
joe parries the strikes from Sims easily there. Sims is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable joe to escape.
joe is not content to let Sims control the position.
joe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sims. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

joe is letting Sims control him for a moment.
Sims has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
joe is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sims has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sims is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but joe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sims wants to control but joe is keeping him busy.

Sims lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Sims is looking to take a break and control but joe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
joe is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sims asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sims throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
joe is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sims, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
