The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jerez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Jerez shoots and misses and Knytmare counters with an inside leg kick. Knytmare fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jerez shoots in and drives through. Knytmare sprawls well. Knytmare feints and as Jerez raises his hands in defense, Knytmare changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Knytmare slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Knytmare wanted to stand there but Jerez had control of the position. Jerez looking to control.
Knytmare wants to stand but Jerez is controlling his posture from full guard. Jerez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Knytmare controls the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nik Knytmare. Knytmare misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knytmare bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jerez struggling a bit here. Knytmare is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jerez has escaped the position, nice work there. Jerez defending against the ground and pound. Jerez avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Knytmare. Knytmare misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Knytmare throws an elbow but Jerez slips to the side and avoids it well. Knytmare tries to advance position but instead Jerez slips a leg back in to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jerez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Nice strikes from Knytmare there. Knytmare throws a strike but Jerez avoids it easily and moves to full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Knytmare looking to pass the guard. Jerez has a closed guard, preventing Knytmare from standing up. Knytmare has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Knytmare throwing strikes from guard but Jerez blocks nicely. Knytmare throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knytmare landing with the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knytmare accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Knytmare throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jerez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jerez pulls Knytmare in close to his closed guard and prevents Knytmare from doing any damage or advancing position. That's four minutes gone in the round. Jerez fails with a takedown attempt. Nik Knytmare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Jerez. Knytmare throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jerez. Jerez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Knytmare tries to avoid it but Jerez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Knytmare to the ground. Knytmare escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Knytmare misses with the combination.
Knytmare gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Knytmare wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jerez, who protects the arm well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jerez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Knytmare wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerez closes the distance and clinches up with Knytmare, looking for a takedown. Jerez pushes Knytmare against the cage but Knytmare circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Knytmare lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jerez tries to clinch up. Knytmare swinging wildly here.
Knytmare throws a right and a left that both miss. Jerez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jerez shoots and misses and Knytmare counters with a left and a right that stings Jerez. Knytmare fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Knytmare throws a series of punches but Jerez moves out of range. Knytmare thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jerez if he has to take too many more of those.
Knytmare looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Knytmare tries to bum rush Jerez with a series of wild strikes but Jerez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Knytmare misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knytmare feints and then cracks Jerez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jerez down. Knytmare shoots for a takedown but Jerez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck for Jerez with that takedown attempt. Nik Knytmare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Jerez. Jerez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jerez is breathing heavily. Knytmare looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jerez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Knytmare postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Knytmare looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Knytmare trying to control but Jerez is working from the bottom.

Knytmare is looking to work some ground and pound but Jerez has wrist control. Knytmare postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Knytmare stands and steps away. Jerez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That's three minutes gone in the round. Knytmare throws a right hand that Jerez ducks under and follows up with a left that Jerez also avoids with ease. Jerez wants to clinch up but Knytmare keeps it at a distance. Some wild striking there from Jerez.
Knytmare feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Knytmare won't allow Jerez to sweep him here. Knytmare looking to sit in guard and control but Jerez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Knytmare might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jerez trying to control the position from guard on top but Knytmare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Knytmare seems keen to control Jerez's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jerez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Knytmare looking for a sweep. Not yet Knytmare, not yet. Knytmare looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Knytmare is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jerez is controlling him. Nik Knytmare overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Knytmare throws a right and a left that Jerez avoids nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Knytmare tries to bum rush Jerez with a series of wild strikes but Jerez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jerez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nik Knytmare dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Knytmare moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Knytmare drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Knytmare scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Knytmare stands and throws Jerez's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jerez is trying to improve his position. Knytmare decides to stand back up. Knytmare shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jerez eats them both and turns towards Knytmare to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Knytmare shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jerez as he avoids it easily. Jerez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Knytmare is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jerez. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Knytmare tries to bum rush Jerez with a series of wild strikes but Jerez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Knytmare closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Knytmare is thwarting Jerez's attempts to control the position. Knytmare is looking to take a break and control but Jerez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jerez wants to get back to his feet.

Knytmare tries to circle away but Jerez has him pinned against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Knytmare as Jerez tries to tie him up. Jerez is trying to pull guard but Knytmare turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Knytmare manages to break the clinch.
Knytmare is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jerez can do to turn this around? Jerez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Knytmare to score an easy takedown into full guard. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jerez's half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Knytmare is nestled in close to Jerez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that's the end of the fight! Nik Knytmare showed his dominance in that final round. Well Knytmare has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
