Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Anane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Anane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Speed. Anane shoots in for a takedown but Speed shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Anane shoots for a double leg takedown but Speed sprawls well. He's pushed Anane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Speed fails in his attempt to clinch. Speed scores with a jab to the head.
Speed with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Speed dips to his left and cracks Anane with an uppercut! Anane takes one on the button. Speed throws out a powerful jab. Speed lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Speed throws a one two combo.
Speed scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Speed swinging wildly here.
Speed misses with a leg kick. Grant Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice straight punches there by Speed. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Speed. The fighters circle momentarily. Speed darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Good leg kick by Speed there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's one minute gone in the round. Speed keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Speed lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Speed misses with a straight left. Anane has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Speed finds it's way round the side to connect with Anane's head. Speed throws an overhand right that lands on Anane's shoulder, as Anane tries to avoid the shot. A jab from Speed finds it's way through Anane's defenses. Anane looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Grant Speed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Anane takes one to the chin there. Speed is breathing heavily. Anane bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anane tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anane controlling the position. Speed wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anane controlling from side mount. Anane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Speed knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Anane staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Speed wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! A lull in the action here as Anane stalls from top position. It looks like Anane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Speed dominated that round. That's time! Speed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Speed instigates a clinch. Speed tries to circle away but Anane has him pinned against the cage. Speed has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Anane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Speed fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Speed lands a leg kick that knocks Anane off balance momentarily. Speed uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Anane has time to react. Anane takes one to the chin there. A combination from Speed does no damage. Anane has a takedown stuffed. Grant Speed is winning the standup battle so far. Anane is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Speed fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Speed connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Anane momentarily.
Anane checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Speed throws a leg kick which misses Anane's front leg but catches the back leg as Anane tries to avoid it. Anane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Anane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Speed as he avoids it easily. Grant Speed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Anane. Donk. Speed catches Anane right on the button with a cross. Speed is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Anane takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Speed scores with a jab to the jaw. Danga de danga de dang - Speed scores with a four punch combination! Anane steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Speed. A jab from Speed misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Speed. No joy for Anane on that attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Speed looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Speed.
Anane clinches up against the cage. Speed gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anane.
Speed is trying to break free. Speed looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Anane prevents Speed from breaking the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anane has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Speed is trying to keep an underhook but Anane manages to get the takedown into half guard. Anane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Speed keeps working. Anane stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Stephen Anane. Horrible takedown by Anane or perhaps it was just good defense by Speed which made him look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Speed pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Anane back to the cage. Speed follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Anane closes the distance and clinches up with Speed, looking for a takedown. Anane pushes Speed against the cage but Speed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Anane gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Sloppy strikes from Speed. Those never looked like landing. Speed misses with a wild body shot. Anane shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Anane was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anane controlling from side mount. Anane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Speed dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A solid leg kick lands there for Speed.
Anane takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Anane takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Speed slaps away a takedown attempt from Anane, before circling back to the center of the mat. Anane walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Speed throws a right and a left that both miss. Anane fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Speed scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Speed clobbers Anane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Speed throws a series of punches but Anane avoids them all with ease. No luck for Anane with that takedown attempt. Grant Speed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Anane. Anane walks into a jab. Anane stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Speed. Speed fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Anane on the side of the head. Anane looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Speed! Speed is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anane is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Speed will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Speed gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Anane takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Anane won't let Speed get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anane looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anane is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Anane!
