With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Avreli!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avreli swings for the body but Boets moves out of range.
Boets showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Avreli.
Boets tries to score a power double leg takedown but Avreli sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boets somewhat.
Boets uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Avreli.
Boets misses with a double jab

and Avreli counters with a nice double leg into side control. Boets won't be happy with that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boets is refusing to be controlled, as Avreli sits in half guard.

Boets is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Avreli's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Avreli's back!

Avreli manages to reverse the position and now he's in Boets's guard. Nice work there by Avreli.
Avreli wants to control from the top but Boets keeps moving.
Avreli tries to free his leg and advance position but Boets is retaining full guard.
Boets is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Avreli throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boets works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Boets has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Avreli is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boets.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Avreli connects with a nice short shot to Boets's temple.

Avreli throws a jab but it's blocked by Boets.

Avreli got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boets has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avreli has managed to get both his arms back between Boets's legs - danger averted.

Avreli in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Boets looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Avreli turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
