Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhon Flitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hussey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jhon Flitch!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flitch shoots in but Hussey avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hussey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Flitch to the mat! Flitch manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Hussey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flitch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hussey has managed to get both his arms back between Flitch's legs - danger averted.
Hussey throws a big elbow that misses.

Hussey is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flitch is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jhon Flitch hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hussey throws a leg kick but Flitch sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Flitch takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Nice uppercut lands for Hussey. That snapped Flitch's head back.

Hussey is stalling here. Flitch is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hussey seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Flitch has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hussey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
