Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Rimmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Frein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ian Rimmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Frein!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frein clinches.
Frein lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rimmer or not.
Rimmer is pressed up against the cage. Frein has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rimmer down to the mat. Rimmer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Frein keeps Rimmer at a distance using the push kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Frein misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Frein scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Ian Rimmer has been cut.

Rimmer feints and as Frein raises his hands in defense, Rimmer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rimmer is breathing heavily.

Frein throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Frein is on top in guard.

Frein is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rimmer has momentary wrist control but Frein slips an elbow through the middle.
Frein working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rimmer's head.
Rimmer is adopting a defensive guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frein stands up over Rimmer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frein accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Frein thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Frein won't allow Rimmer to get back to his feet.
Frein preventing the sweep.
Frein throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frein lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rimmer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rimmer tries to get out of the position.

Frein working some strikes from top position.
Frein throwing strikes but missing.
Frein postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Frein gets to his feet - Rimmer follows without any prompting.
Frein has a takedown stuffed.
Ian Rimmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Frein.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frein fails with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Frein looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Frein tries to clinch but Rimmer is having none of it.
No joy there for Frein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Frein tries to clinch up but Rimmer circles away and keeps his distance.
Rimmer takes a swing at Frein's ribcage but misses.
Rimmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frein's waist but Frein gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rimmer off to one side.
Frein tries to clinch but Rimmer is having none of it.
Frein keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Frein fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rimmer avoids it really well and circles away.
Frein shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rimmer sprawls well. Rimmer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Frein gets slowly back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rimmer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Frein's guard.
Frein bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rimmer's guard.

Frein drops back looking for a leg! Rimmer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rimmer manages to kick Frein off! Frein jumps back into Rimmer's guard.

Rimmer wants to stand and escape but Frein is having none of it.
Frein keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rimmer's head.

Frein gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rimmer throws a hook but Frein blocks it.
Frein has a takedown stuffed.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Frein gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Frein changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rimmer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck for Frein with that takedown attempt.
Frein shoots in for a takedown but Rimmer shows good takedown defense.
Frein tries for a takedown but Rimmer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rimmer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Rimmer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rimmer slows the pace down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Frein dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ian Rimmer's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Frein shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Frein showed some decent athleticism there.
Rimmer is trying to stand back up but Frein is controlling him
Rimmer is trying to maintain the position but Frein is very close to passing his half guard.
Frein looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rimmer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Frein lands strikes from half guard.
Frein is nestled in close to Rimmer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Frein seems to be looking for submissions.
Frein works his way into full mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Frein jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rimmer manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Rimmer tries to improve position but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Frein seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Frein working away.
Frein lands an elbow.
Rimmer is trying to control Frein's posture but Frein avoids it.
Frein lands a decent elbow from side control.

Frein tries for a kimura but Rimmer is defending well.
Frein in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Frein thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Rimmer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rimmer tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Frein has an Americana. Rimmer didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Frein is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Frein hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jake Frein!
