Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bv Rasp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins has chosen Care Bear Countdown as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bv Rasp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasp fails with the takedown
and Elkins counters with a left and a right that stings Rasp.
Rasp tries to clinch
and Elkins counters with a leg kick.
A head kick by Elkins misses
and Rasp counters with a nice body shot.
A low kick from Elkins is predictable there
and Rasp counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Horrible takedown by Rasp or perhaps it was just good defense by Elkins which made him look bad.
Rasp looks for a takedown but Elkins sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bv Rasp. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rasp tries to clinch but Elkins is having none of it.

Elkins throws a shot from downtown. Rasp moves away and avoids it.

Elkins moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Rasp wants to clinch up but Elkins keeps it at a distance.
Elkins ducks under a wild hook from Rasp.
Rasp moves out of range of the leg kick from Elkins.

and Rasp counters with a stiff right hand.
Elkins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rasp.

Rasp blocks a jab.

Elkins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Elkins throws a shot from downtown. Rasp moves away and avoids it.
Rasp shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Elkins but Elkins pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rasp is looking to clinch but Elkins is avoiding it.

Rasp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Elkins avoids it really well and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rasp is defended easily by Elkins.
Rasp takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Rasp rushes Elkins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rasp tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Elkins smiles and moves away.
Rasp takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elkins throws a jab but it's blocked by Rasp.

Rasp shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Elkins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Rasp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Elkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rasp has gone for a leg lock! Elkins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rasp's guard.
Rasp is trying to control the position but Elkins postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dwight Elkins hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rasp takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Rasp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Elkins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rasp.

Rasp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Rasp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rasp is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Elkins can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Elkins is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rasp gets his way!

Dwight Elkins is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bv Rasp.
I think Elkins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
