6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Helms misses with a looping left. Dos Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dos Santos throws a nice looking combination but Helms bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Helms throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dos Santos. Dos Santos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Helms.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dos Santos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dos Santos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Helms keeping moving, preventing Dos Santos from controlling successfully. Dos Santos advances to half guard. Dos Santos is working for a submission of some sort.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dos Santos is trying to control. Helms wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dos Santos working over Helms with some ground and pound. Helms looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dos Santos connects with a nice short shot to Helms's temple. Helms wants to get back to his feet.
