PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Albert De Morcerf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Whitaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Morcerf comes to the cage accompanied by The Bastard's Song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Albert De Morcerf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Whitaker!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitaker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but De Morcerf was well out of range. Poor timing from Whitaker.
Whitaker misses with a low kick.

Whitaker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

De Morcerf wants to get back to his feet but Whitaker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Whitaker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Morcerf swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

De Morcerf tries to stand but Whitaker is controlling from the bottom.

Whitaker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. De Morcerf is working away from the top position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

so Whitaker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Whitaker counters with a nice double leg into side control. De Morcerf won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Whitaker swings around for an armbar but De Morcerf sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Whitaker's guard.

Gabriel Whitaker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Whitaker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
