PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shigeo Miyato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and General Tso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tso has chosen Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, General Tso!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyato takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Tso closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tso lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tso scoring with punches to the head and body.

Miyato is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Miyato working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tso keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Miyato's head.
Tso must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tso chips away with some ground and pound.
Tso won't allow Miyato to sweep him here.
Tso throwing strikes from guard but Miyato blocks nicely.
Tso postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Miyato manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tso manages to get himself to full guard.
Tso wants to get back to his feet but Miyato is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Miyato drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miyato jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miyato looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tso wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Miyato is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tso defends it well.

Tso kicks off Miyato and gets to his feet.
Tso scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Tso thows a body shot but no joy.
Tso misses with an uppercut. Miyato saw that one coming.
A big left from Tso misses.
Tso scores with a hook to the body. Miyato takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Tso drives through with a takedown into Miyato's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Miyato has his foot on Tso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tso works his way back into a safe position though.
Tso lands a couple of digs.

Tso has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Miyato to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Tso is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Miyato pulls down on the head and he's put Tso to sleep! This one is all over!
