Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DeMario Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Locke will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMario Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Locke! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams blocks a jab. Locke looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Williams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Locke is controlling him. Williams wants to sweep here but Locke controlling him for the moment. Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
DeMario Williams has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Williams shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Williams stalling. Williams is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Williams seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams scoring with strikes to the body and head. Locke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Williams content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We're going to have a standup here because DeMario Williams wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Locke gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. Locke won't be happy with that. Williams in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams in side control lands a decent elbow. Williams moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. An elbow from Williams crashes against the mat.
Locke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Williams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Locke will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Williams scores with a couple of short elbows. Locke is being controlled here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Locke is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it. Locke is trying to escape the position but Williams is controlling the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Locke is trying to improve his position. Williams working away.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Williams controlling the pace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Locke trying to control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Williams with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Locke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Williams is doing well to control the position and prevent Locke from advancing to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Williams is adopting a defensive guard. Williams's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of DeMario Williams. Williams changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Locke looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Williams just content to control the position. Locke tries to bench press Williams off him but Williams keeps the position. Locke wants to control but Williams postures up. Williams in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Williams tries to advance to mount but can't. Williams lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Locke down.
Locke is being controlled here. Locke is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams is in bad spot here.
Locke is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Williams has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Locke is not going to allow Williams to sit and survive in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DeMario Williams dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Williams forces Locke back against the cage and clinches. A quick uppercut on the inside from Williams. Locke throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Williams works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Williams passes into half guard. Locke tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control. Williams looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Williams in particular looking to stall. DeMario Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Locke is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. DeMario Williams wasn't doing enough on the ground. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Williams, as that shot connected.
Williams darts in and clinches Locke up against the cage. Locke blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Williams tries to work over Locke's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Locke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Locke's legs - danger averted. Williams preventing the sweep. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Locke has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though. Williams with a nice head shot there. Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Locke is retaining full guard. Williams not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Locke wants to sweep but no luck. Williams is stalling in the full guard. Locke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Locke can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Williams controls the pace. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

And that's the end of the fight! DeMario Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
