13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Charlie Cliche! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Irwin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cliche fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Irwin avoids it really well and circles away. Irwin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Cliche is trying hard to land a takedown here. Irwin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Irwin throws a shot from downtown. Cliche moves away and avoids it. Irwin looks to score with a jab to the body but Cliche is just out of range. It looks like Charlie Cliche has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cliche uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Irwin. Cliche is still on wobbly legs! Can Irwin finish him? Cliche is trying desperately to land a takedown but Irwin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Cliche. Irwin misses with a hook. Cliche ducked under it nicely. Cliche shoots in but Irwin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cliche seems to have recovered his senses. Irwin takes one on the button.

Cliche shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Irwin as he jumps to the side. Irwin jabbing away but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Irwin. Irwin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cliche. That did some damage! Irwin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Irwin misses with a combination
and Cliche counters with a shoot takedown. Irwin fights it but they end up in guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cliche distracts Irwin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cliche postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Cliche stands up over Irwin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cliche throws a big elbow that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cliche accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cliche stops Irwin from standing up. Cliche looking to pass the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cliche scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Paul Irwin! After the fight, Paul Irwin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
