Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Gonzales !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Powell!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell wants to clinch up but Gonzales keeps it at a distance.
Powell swats away the attempt to clinch by Gonzales .
Powell shoots for a double leg takedown but Gonzales sprawls well. He's pushed Powell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gonzales avoids a punch combination nicely.

Gonzales gets caught flat footed, as Powell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Powell scoring with some ground and pound.
Gonzales will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Powell tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzales is retaining full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gonzales holds on and takes a little breather.
Powell wants to pass the guard but Gonzales is keeping the position.
Gonzales seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Gonzales changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Powell tries to avoid it but Gonzales manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Powell to the ground. Powell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Powell won't allow Gonzales to sweep him here.

Gonzales shoots for a takedown but Powell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gonzales really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gonzales seems keen to control Powell's posture.

Powell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powell wants it to stay on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Gonzales will probably get the nod.

Gonzales is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Powell will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

I would just about give that final round to Joe Powell.
Well Gonzales has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
