Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jovon Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Blackmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chambers comes to the cage accompanied by Carmen Gray-Gates of Loneliness. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chambers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blackmore pinned against the cage. Blackmore gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A slow jab from Blackmore misses its intended target. Chambers doesn't succeed with the takedown and Blackmore counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Chambers missing with a left hand there. Blackmore was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Chambers dives in and scores a takedown into Blackmore's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Chambers advances to half guard. Chambers wants to control but Blackmore is keeping him busy. Chambers wants to pass to mount but Blackmore is defending the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blackmore can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blackmore is defending against the submission attempts here by Chambers.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chambers is trying to control. Blackmore wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Chambers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Blackmore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chambers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chambers is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Blackmore is trying to stand.
