Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Melekh David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog has chosen Zombie as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Melekh David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from David.
David tried to score with a low kick but Dog checks it.
A looping hook to the body misses from David. Dog does a little dance to reset his feet.

Dog throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. David tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dog is in David's guard.
Dog wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
Dog trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
David wants to sweep here but Dog controlling him for the moment.
David being controlled here, momentarily.
Dog pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. David is keeping the position for now.

Dog trying to control the position from guard on top but David is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Crazy Dog hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
David doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
David throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Melekh David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog blocks a jab.
David tries a low kick but Dog avoids it.
David needs to keep his hands up - Dog had a free shot at his head there.

David takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
David ducks right into an uppercut from Dog.

Dog throws a right hand that David ducks under and follows up with a left that David also avoids with ease.
Nice defenses there by Dog.
David showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dog.
Dog lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
David leaves Dog with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
David misses with a body kick.

Dog misses with a series of wild punches.
David goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dog ducks down and throws a hook to the body but David moves away.

Dog takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
David on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Dog throws a hook but David avoids it easily.
David throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
David misses with a body kick.
Dog listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
David misses with a hook. Dog ducked under it nicely.
David is looking to slow Dog down with leg kicks.
David slips under a jab.
A jab from Dog finds it's way through David's defenses.
Dog blocks a low kick nicely.

Dog on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by David. David obviously looking to wear him down.

David misses with a hook. Dog ducked under it nicely.
David throws a big shot that misses.

and Dog counters with a three punch combo that has David backing up. David nods at Dog to acknowledge the strikes.
Dog feints a jab promting David to slip. Dog then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. David slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


David is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd cheers as Dog lands an impressive looking overhand right. David doesn't seem phased though.
Oh David is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dog thows a left - swing and a miss!
David shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dog defends it nicely.

Dog shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
David is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
David is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dog in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dog is looking to work some ground and pound but David has wrist control.
Dog forces his way into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has David pinned against the cage. David gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
David tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dog is able to avoid easily.
David seems to have got his legs back now.
David lands with a slapping head kick.
David misses with a hook. Dog ducked under it nicely.
Melekh David is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
David throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
David avoids the body shot from Dog.
Dog darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

David attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
David throws the kick towards the body but Dog avoids it.

Dog throws a combination but it was largely blocked by David.
Dog has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Dog fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Dog clobbers David with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

David attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

David throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
David misses the shot to the body.
David explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

David is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Dog's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Dog on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
David is looking to score with low kicks.
Dog throws a right and a left that David avoids nicely.
Dog lands with a hook. David tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
David takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

David feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dog's calf.
Dog takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A head kick misses from David.
David has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from David there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dog scores with a crisp jab that stopped David in his tracks.
Dog might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
David tries to land a front kick but Dog steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
David shoots in but no luck this time.
Dog throws a jab when David was well out of range.
David tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from David.
Dog will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dog tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Dog goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, David has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dog but great work by David.

David wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dog, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dog is not content to let David control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Melekh David will probably get the nod.
That's time! David's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Dog's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
David fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dog manages to avoid it.

David misses with a low kick.
Nice sprawl there from Dog as David shoots in.
David finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

David tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Dog shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in David's guard.
David is trying to control the position but Dog postures up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
David looking for a sweep. Not yet David, not yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
David lands a jab-cross combination.
Dog misses with a body shot.
David misses with a head kick.
David connects with a high kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

David gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dog to score an easy takedown into full guard.

David is looking to sweep but instead, Dog has passed into half guard.
David won't allow Dog to pass to mount.

Dog seems to be looking for submissions.

Dog wants to work for an arm triangle but David is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
David has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dog is working away from the top position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dog is working for a kimura but David is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David is positioning himself well to prevent Dog advancing to mount.
Dog is controlling the pace.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Crazy Dog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dog has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
