Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorma Korva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aslanbek Basayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorma Korva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aslanbek Basayev! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Korva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Basayev keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Basayev can do anything to dispel that myth. Korva working the head and body with strikes. Basayev is trying to control Korva's posture but Korva avoids it. Korva cracks Basayev with a big elbow. Basayev is trying to improve his position. Basayev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Korva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Basayev struggling a bit here. Korva working the ground and pound. Korva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Basayev wants to control but Korva postures up. Korva scoring with punches from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Korva is looking to take a break and control but Basayev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Korva working the head and body with strikes.

Basayev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Korva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Korva scores with punches from side control. Korva works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Korva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Basayev keeps working. Korva cracks Basayev with a big right hand but Basayev just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Korva has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Korva cracks Basayev with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Basayev is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oooooh, big shot lands for Korva! Basayev is hurt baaadly! Korva is firing away with more strikes - Basayev is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
