Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dean Oh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mikael Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oh moves to clinch but Karlsson breaks away

and Karlsson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Karlsson postures up.
Oh wants to sweep here but Karlsson controlling him for the moment.
Karlsson wants to pass the guard but Oh is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oh looking for a sweep. Not yet Oh, not yet.
Oh is working hard here to advance position.
Karlsson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Oh on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Oh tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Oh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Karlsson, pushing him back against the cage.

Oh slowing the pace effectively.
Karlsson can't find room to land a body shot as Oh controls the action.
Oh slows down the pace here.
Karlsson is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karlsson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Oh leaning against his opponent.
Karlsson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Oh in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The referee is keeping an eye on Oh - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dean Oh.
Oh wants to clinch up but Karlsson keeps it at a distance.

Oh shoots in but Karlsson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Oh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karlsson on the ground.
Karlsson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Oh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Karlsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oh circles away.
Karlsson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oh keeps the fight on the outside.
Oh showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Karlsson.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oh scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dean Oh will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Karlsson keeps the fight on the outside.

Oh clinches with his opponent.
Oh trying to land knees to the body.
Karlsson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Oh gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Oh taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Oh wants to take the fight to the mat but Karlsson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Oh's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Karlsson is breathing heavily.

Karlsson tries to break free but Oh pushes him back against the cage.
Karlsson is working for takedown but Oh is calmly controlling the position for now.
Oh leaning his opponent against the cage.
Oh gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Karlsson tries to circle away but Oh has him pinned against the cage.
Oh taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dean Oh.

Oh forces Karlsson back against the cage and clinches.
Oh slows down the pace here.

Karlsson tries to break the clinch but Oh is controlling the position.
Oh throws a punch but it's blocked by Karlsson.
Karlsson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Oh's efforts to push away.

Karlsson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oh pushes Karlsson up against the cage in a clinch.

Oh content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Karlsson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Karlsson unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Oh trying to land knees to the body.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Karlsson closes the distance and clinches up with Oh, looking for a takedown. Karlsson pushes Oh against the cage but Oh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Oh drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Oh wants to control from the top but Karlsson keeps moving.
Oh looking to sit in guard and control but Karlsson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Oh trying to keep a closed guard but Karlsson is proving a slippery customer.
Karlsson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Karlsson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oh looking to control.
Oh looking for a sweep. Not yet Oh, not yet.
Karlsson wants to control from the top but Oh keeps moving.
Oh is trying to control the position but Karlsson postures up.

Dean Oh has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Oh tries to clinch but Karlsson is having none of it.

Oh has Karlsson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Karlsson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Oh misses with an elbow strike.
Oh gets underhooks to prevent Karlsson's takedown attempt.

Dean Oh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikael Karlsson.

Karlsson wanted to stand there but Oh had control of the position.

Dean Oh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Oh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
