The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Badenov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mendes throws a right and a left that Badenov avoids nicely.
Badenov dodges the punch combination from Mendes.
Badenov walks into a stiff left hand from Mendes.
It looks like Boris Badenov has been cut.
A punch combination from Mendes misses.
Mendes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Badenov moves into the clinch successfully.
Badenov is trying to drag Mendes to the mat but Mendes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Badenov gets control of Mendes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Badenov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Badenov controls Mendes momentarily but Mendes frees himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mendes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mendes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mendes wants to get up but he can't break Badenov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Badenov kicks Mendes off and gets to his feet.
Mendes throws a lazy uppercut
and Badenov counters with a shoot takedown. Mendes fights it but they end up in guard.
Badenov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mendes is trying to escape the position but Badenov is controlling the position.

Badenov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mendes is trying to escape and Badenov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mendes is forced to tap! Nice work there by Badenov! Very nice indeed!
