PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Cao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Bacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chris Bacon was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elijah Cao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Bacon!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon looks to land a combination but Cao avoids it well.
Cao throws a body punch but Bacon moves out of range.
Cao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bacon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bacon misses with a double jab
and Cao counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A combination from Bacon does no damage.
Cao swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bacon.
Chris Bacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bacon misses with a wild combination.
Bacon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cao misses with a straight left.
Bacon lands a nice hook to Cao's body. Cao takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bacon tries to bum rush Cao with a series of wild strikes but Cao uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fighters circling - Cao throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Cao lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Chris Bacon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bacon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Cao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bacon.

and Cao counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Cao tries to close the distance and clinch but Bacon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bacon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cao's head backwards.
Cao avoids the body shot from Bacon.
Bacon throws a series of punches but Cao avoids them all with ease.
Cao keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cao.

Cao connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cao takes a swing at Bacon's ribcage but misses.
Cao looks to land a left hand but Bacon moved out of range nicely.
Bacon tries to bum rush Cao with a series of wild strikes but Cao uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bacon throws the left hand but Cao avoids the punch easily.
Bacon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cao.
Cao looks to land a right hand but Bacon moved out of range.
Bacon scores with a jab to the body.
Cao works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Bacon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A big left from Cao misses.
Cao misses with a wild body shot.
Cao showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bacon.
Sloppy strikes from Bacon. Those never looked like landing.

and Cao counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bacon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bacon takes one on the chin but seems OK.


Bacon is rocked!

Cao gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bacon is still on wobbly legs! Can Cao finish him?
Cao throws a head punch that misses.
Cao misses with a punch on the inside.
Cao can't find room to land a body shot as Bacon controls the action.
Bacon blocks a body shot from Cao.
Bacon is trying to push Cao away but Cao has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cao throws a head punch that misses.
Cao throws a punch but it's blocked by Bacon.

Bacon tries to break free but Cao pushes him back against the cage.
Bacon blocking some punches.
Bacon seems to have recovered his senses.
A frustrated look appears on Bacon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Bacon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cao manages to avoid it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bacon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bacon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cao shoots in for a takedown but Bacon shows good takedown defense.
Cao lands a lovely overhand right.
Cao misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bacon.
Bacon throws out a loose jab but Cao uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bacon feints a jab promting Cao to slip. Bacon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cao slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Bacon is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cao rather than just go for the knockout.

Bacon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cao is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Bacon stuffs the takedown attempt from Cao. Cao gets slowly back to his feet.
Bacon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cao moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Bacon goes down! Can Cao finish him!?
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Cao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cao is standing up over Bacon. Bacon looks to escape but Cao dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elijah Cao dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cao just misses with a punch to the body.
Elijah Cao is winning the standup battle so far.
Cao batters Bacon with a massive right followed by a huge left! Bacon is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Cao lands a final crushing right hand to drop Bacon to the mat with a gruesome thud! Cao is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Elijah Cao!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Elijah Cao waved his t-shirt featuring Xtreme Merchandise's logo in front of the cameras.
