Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bodhisattwa De! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Ellis! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De avoids it really well and circles away. De throws a nice inside leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - De looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ellis dives in and grabs De's left leg, looking for a takedown. De pushes down on Ellis's head and hops out. De tries to clinch there but Ellis circles away.
De throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ellis drives through with a takedown into De's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ellis is stalling in the full guard. Ellis stands and steps away. De gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bodhisattwa De is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bodhisattwa De has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Ellis. De clinches with his opponent.
De putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Ellis in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. De tries to break the clinch but Ellis is controlling the position. Ellis scores with a shot to the side of De's head.
It looks like Bodhisattwa De has been cut. De is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ellis is defending well for now. De pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bodhisattwa De seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De wants to clinch and Ellis counters with an inside leg kick. De closes the distance looking to clinch and Ellis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ellis. Ellis jumps into guard, dragging De to the mat.
De is sitting in close to Ellis's body. Ellis has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! De is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, De is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ellis.
