Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arturo Gatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Benson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to R-Swift - Awesome God. Dan Benson had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatti throws a nice looking combination but Benson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Benson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gatti's waist but Gatti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benson off to one side.
Benson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gatti counters with a head kick. That will keep Benson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Benson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gatti manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gatti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Benson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gatti has managed to get both his arms back between Benson's legs - danger averted.
Gatti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gatti feints a jab promting Benson to slip. Gatti then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Benson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gatti swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Benson shoots in for a double leg but Gatti sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nice takedown defense from Gatti. No joy for Benson on that attempt.
Gatti lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Benson can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Gatti and Benson drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Gatti.
