The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Condit displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pereira throws out the jab.
Condit forces Pereira back against the cage and clinches.
Pereira is leaning against Condit and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Pereira.
Pereira is trying to stall.
Pereira wants to get back to striking at distance but Condit won't allow it.
Pereira is trying to break the clinch but Condit is controlling him.
Condit manages to break the clinch.
Condit tries to clinch up but Pereira circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice shot lands for Pereira.
Pereira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Condit to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Condit tries to stand but Pereira is controlling from the bottom.
Condit drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pereira looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pereira looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pereira!

You can see the frustration on Condit's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pereira decides to stand back up. Pereira steps back and let's Condit get back to his feet.

Pereira on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Condit rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pereira counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pereira lands with a nice body punch.
Pereira stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pereira wants it to stay on the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pereira connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Condit tumbling to the canvas! Pereira pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Condit was done - good stoppage!
