Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaun Simmons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Stone! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone dodges the punch combination from Simmons.
Stone avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stone shoots for a double leg takedown but Simmons sprawls well. He's pushed Stone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Simmons will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Simmons throws a right and a left that both miss. Simmons throws a nice looking combination but Stone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Stone takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Simmons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stone. Stone slips a jab and a cross from Simmons.
Simmons misses with a double jab.

That's one minute gone in the round. Simmons fails to land with a series of punches.
Simmons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stone moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Stone shoots for a takedown but Simmons saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Simmons swinging wildly here.
Simmons is breathing heavily. Simmons moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stone. Shaun Simmons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Stone. Simmons throws a series of punches but Stone moves out of range. Stone is trying hard to land a takedown here. Simmons sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Shaun Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Simmons misses. Simmons tries to bum rush Stone with a series of wild strikes but Stone uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Simmons misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Simmons.
Simmons throws a series of punches but Stone avoids them all with ease. Simmons misses with a series of wild punches.
Stone shoots in and bounces Simmons off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Simmons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stone controls the pace. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stone working some strikes from top position. Stone stands up over Simmons, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Stone seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Stone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Stone remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stone in side control lands a decent elbow. Stone lands an elbow. Simmons is working to avoid the ground and pound but Stone connects with a decent elbow. Simmons is trying to escape the position but Stone is controlling the position. Stone cracks Simmons with a big right hand but Simmons just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stone staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone working the ground and pound. Stone controlling from side mount. Stone is putting a hurting on Simmons here, landing some big shots from side control. Simmons seems a little lost for a moment, as Stone dominates the positioning. Stone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Stone's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Stone working the ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stone is chipping away with strikes.
Stone cracks Simmons with an elbow. That is naaassty. Stone lands some shots froms side control. Simmons knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stone on the ground. Simmons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Stone dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stone fails with the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Simmons sprawls well initially but Stone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Stone lands with a punch from half guard. Simmons on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Simmons tries to get out of the position. Stone works his foot free and advances to mount. Stone looking to finish Simmons with some ground and pound. This is bad for Simmons! Stone controlling from the full mount. Stone lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Simmons hang on?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stone has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Simmons's face.
Stone lands a big shot there that rocks Simmons but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stone breaks from Simmons's wrist control and lands an elbow. Stone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Stone lands a nice shot to the head. Stone landing strikes, looking to finish!
Simmons is rocked! Stone is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Simmons goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Stone!
