Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Oleg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexi Takala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexi Takala is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Oleg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexi Takala!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oleg looks to land a combination but Takala avoids it well.

Takala closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oleg did well to prevent Takala getting side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Takala is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Oleg controlling the position for now.
Oleg gets back to full guard.
Oleg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Takala avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Takala pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oleg is keeping the position for now.
Takala trying to control but Oleg is working from the bottom.

Oleg tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Oleg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Takala slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takala wants to control from the top but Oleg keeps moving.
Oleg tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alexi Takala was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Oleg circles away from the clinch attempt.
A big right from Takala misses.
Takala connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Oleg misses with an uppercut. Takala saw that one coming.
Donk. Oleg catches Takala right on the button with a cross.
Oleg tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takala was well out of range. Poor timing from Oleg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oleg throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Takala stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Oleg scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Oleg tries to clinch but Takala is having none of it.
Oleg throws a big shot that misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takala dips to his left and cracks Oleg with an uppercut!
Takala moves out of range as Oleg strikes.
Takala tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Oleg manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oleg lands a jab to the nose.
Takala tries to clinch there but Oleg circles away.

Oleg closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Takala to the mat! Takala manages to get full guard.

Takala is looking for a triangle but Oleg pushes his legs off easily.
Oleg trying to control the position from guard on top but Takala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oleg passes Takala's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Oleg is pressing down on Takala's thigh, looking to free his foot. Takala is holding on for now.
Takala is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Takala is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Oleg's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Oleg's back!
Oleg rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are battling for position here. Oleg manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Oleg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Takala is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oleg working for a triangle but Takala defends it easily.
Takala not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Oleg has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Takala preventing the sweep.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oleg is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oleg tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oleg keeping moving, preventing Takala from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Oleg forces Takala back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Oleg dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Takala tries to sprawl but Oleg drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Oleg is looking to take a break and control but Takala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Oleg perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Oleg trying to pass the guard but Takala defending well.
Takala is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Takala is still trying to improve position.
Oleg wants to free his trapped foot but Takala is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Oleg has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Oleg is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Takala has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Takala!
Takala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oleg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oleg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Oleg uses his free foot to push down on Takala's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Takala.

Oleg has isolated one of Takala's arms. Takala looking to fight him off but Oleg twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alexander Oleg!
After the fight, Alexander Oleg was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
