7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Rhababer! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polk lands a leg kick that knocks Rhababer off balance momentarily. Nice takedown defense from Polk. No joy for Rhababer on that attempt. Polk lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rhababer's sensitive parts. Polk cracks the inside of Rhababer's front leg. Rhababer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Rhababer loads up on a big right hand but Polk slips the punch. Joe Polk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Polk looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A telegraphed right hand from Rhababer misses the target. Polk clinches. Rhababer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Polk pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rhababer wants a takedown.
Joe Polk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Rhababer. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Polk scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Gabriel Rhababer has been cut. Nice elbow from Polk. Polk lands an elbow inside. Polk lands an elbow inside that Rhababer shrugs off. Rhababer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rhababer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Polk avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Rhababer goes for a takedown attempt but Polk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rhababer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Polk sees it coming and avoids it easily. Polk throws a nice outside leg kick. Polk scores with a hook.
That has opened up Gabriel Rhababer's cut even more. Polk turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Rhababer swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Polk chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Joe Polk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rhababer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Polk. Polk is looking to slow Rhababer down with leg kicks. Polk throws a nice inside leg kick. Rhababer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Polk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rhababer scrambles back to his feet.
The cut above Gabriel Rhababer's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Polk is looking to slow Rhababer down with leg kicks. Polk lands a big head kick that sends Rhababer tumbling to the mat! Polk takes a step backwards and waves Rhababer back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Rhababer is rocked! Polk scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Rhababer is still on wobbly legs! Can Polk finish him? Polk lands with a thumping leg kick.
Polk lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Rhababer seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polk fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rhababer. Polk fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Polk buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Gabriel Rhababer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Polk lands a big head kick that sends Rhababer tumbling to the mat! Polk takes a step backwards and waves Rhababer back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gabriel Rhababer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
