Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joka Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Petterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joka Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Petterson! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Petterson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Petterson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away. Gracie shoots in and drives through. Petterson sprawls well. Petterson dives in and grabs Gracie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes down on Petterson's head and hops out. Joka Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Petterson. No luck with that takedown attempt from Petterson. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Petterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Petterson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Petterson controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petterson wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Petterson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gracie has managed to free his arm - good work. Gracie is staying active underneath Petterson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Petterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Petterson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gracie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Petterson is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Petterson sits in half guard. Gracie regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Petterson. Petterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Petterson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Petterson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gracie circles away. Petterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Petterson persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing. Petterson clinches. Petterson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Petterson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Petterson wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Petterson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well. Gracie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gracie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Petterson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Petterson is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea. Petterson being controlled here, momentarily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Petterson wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Petterson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Petterson jumps guard and drags Gracie to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Petterson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there. Petterson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Petterson is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gracie's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gracie is stalling in the full guard. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Petterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joka Gracie just wasn't active enough. Petterson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Petterson lands an elbow inside. Petterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Petterson is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
Petterson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gracie has his feet on Petterson's thighs here. He's pushed Petterson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Petterson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
