Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Hadjiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Hadjiev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Millar! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Millar scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Millar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hadjiev's guard. Millar stays in close to Hadjiev's body and controls the position. Hadjiev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hadjiev working a defensive guard here.
Hadjiev pulls Millar in close to his closed guard and prevents Millar from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hadjiev throws a right and a left that both miss.

Millar is holding on for now. Hadjiev is keen to just control but Millar is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Millar wants to control but Hadjiev is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hadjiev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Millar did well to prevent Hadjiev getting side control. Millar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hadjiev working the head and body with strikes. Hadjiev is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Millar gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Millar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hadjiev lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Hadjiev trying to control the action but Millar is working from the bottom. Millar wants to improve his position but Hadjiev is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hadjiev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Millar, who protects the arm well. Millar on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Millar taking punishment in the form of punches.
Millar is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Alex Hadjiev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hadjiev working the ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hadjiev lands a decent elbow from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Millar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Millar looking for a kimura from the bottom but Hadjiev passes into side control! Millar is not in a great position here, taking some shots. You can see the frustration on Millar's face as Hadjiev controls the position. Millar takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Millar seems a little lost for a moment, as Hadjiev dominates the positioning. Hadjiev scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Millar to see if he's OK. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hadjiev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Millar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hadjiev prevents Millar from escaping the position. Hadjiev cracks Millar with a big elbow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hadjiev grinds an elbow into Millar's temple. Sloppy strikes there by Hadjiev. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Hadjiev dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Hadjiev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Millar tries to avoid it but Hadjiev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Millar to the ground. Millar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Millar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hadjiev is fending him off so far but Millar persists. Nope, Hadjiev circles away and we're back to standing. Hadjiev leaves Millar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hadjiev fails with a takedown attempt. Millar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Alex Hadjiev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Millar. Hadjiev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Millar is fending him off so far but Hadjiev persists. Nope, Millar circles away and we're back to standing. Millar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Millar is on top in guard.
Hadjiev is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hadjiev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hadjiev wants to sweep here but Millar controlling him for the moment.
Alex Hadjiev has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Millar throws a nice outside leg kick. Millar slaps away a takedown attempt from Hadjiev, before circling back to the center of the mat. Millar delivers a nice body kick. Millar wants to clinch. Millar throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Millar doesn't manage to clinch there - Hadjiev circles away.
Nice jab there from Millar. Hadjiev on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Millar. Millar obviously looking to wear him down.
Hadjiev fails with the takedown. Millar throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hadjiev's head. Millar tries to clinch there but Hadjiev circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Millar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hadjiev was well out of range. Poor timing from Millar. Hadjiev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Millar is trying to defend but Hadjiev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Millar is not content to let Hadjiev control the position. Millar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Millar is trying to stand up here but Hadjiev is controlling him well. Mike Millar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alex Hadjiev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hadjiev is trying to control. Millar wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Hadjiev. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hadjiev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
