Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Gulp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Gulp!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gulp gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gulp wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gulp throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely.
Gulp postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.
Gulp missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Silva wants to sweep here but Gulp controlling him for the moment.
Gulp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gulp stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gulp!
Silva taking punishment in the form of punches.
Gulp lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.

Gulp decides to stand back up. Gulp steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gulp fails with a takedown attempt.
Gulp shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gulp shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Gulp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Daniel Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Gulp.
Gulp shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Gulp keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gulp is defended easily by Silva.

Silva cracks Gulp with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Silva has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gulp to stand back up!


It looks like Hank Gulp has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gulp shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Hank Gulp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gulp drops his hands momentarily and Silva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Silva misses with a body shot

and Gulp counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
An elbow from Gulp crashes against the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.
Gulp is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Gulp is nestled in close to Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva.
Gulp trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gulp throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely.
Silva looking to control.
Gulp stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gulp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gulp landing some decent shots from guard.
Gulp tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Gulp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva wants to stand and escape but Gulp is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gulp looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Silva will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Silva throws a shot to the body.
Silva lands a right hook to the body.
Gulp moves out of range of the strikes.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva misses with a wild body shot.
Silva with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Gulp is breathing heavily.

Gulp shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gulp doesn't seem bothered though.
Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Silva lands a body shot.
Silva connects with a body shot that sends Gulp's belly button to the back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva misses the shot to the body.

Gulp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.
Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gulp doesn't seem bothered though.
Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Gulp is just out of range.
Silva throws a right hand that Gulp ducks under and follows up with a left that Gulp also avoids with ease.
The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gulp doesn't seem phased though.
Silva cracks a nice hook into Gulp's ribs.
Silva lands a jab to Gulp's midsection.
Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gulp stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Silva jabs Gulp right on the nose. Gulp blinks but takes it well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Gulp does a little dance to reset his feet.
Silva throws a body punch but Gulp moves out of range.
Gulp throws an overhand right that lands on Silva's shoulder, as Silva tries to avoid the shot.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Daniel Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gulp fails with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gulp shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Daniel Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Gulp.
Silva connects with a crisp jab.
Gulp throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gulp keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Silva drops Gulp with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gulp looks back up at him and smiles so Silva waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Gulp is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva takes a swing at Gulp's ribcage but misses.
Silva lands a slapping body shot.
Gulp keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Gulp.
Gulp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silva throws a shot to the body.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Silva knocks Gulp out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Daniel Silva!
