Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Guzman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Steiner! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steiner shoots in and bounces Guzman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Guzman has a closed guard, preventing Steiner from standing up. Steiner wants to stand and escape but instead Guzman has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Guzman won't allow Steiner to get back to his feet. Steiner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guzman forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steiner tries to kick Guzman off but Guzman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Guzman is looking for a kimura but Steiner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guzman to get the leverage. Guzman is working for a submission of some sort.
Guzman prevents Steiner from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Steiner looks winded! Steiner is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Guzman tries to pass to full mount but Steiner defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steiner is trying to stand back up but Guzman is controlling him
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guzman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Steiner is just riding it out for now. Guzman eventually gives up the hold. Steiner is trying to stand back up but Guzman is controlling him
Guzman wants to pass the guard but Steiner is defending well. Steiner is trying to stand.
Steiner scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Guzman manages to mount him!
Steiner is trying to stand but he's just given Guzman his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steiner controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Steiner is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Guzman on his back. Guzman looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Steiner has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
