Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kirk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Nguyen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nguyen doesn't manage to clinch there - Kirk circles away.
Kirk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A nice combination there by Kirk.
Kirk scores with the left hand. Nguyen knows he should have avoided that one. Nguyen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kirk counters with a left and a right that stings Nguyen. Nguyen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kirk looks to land a combination but Nguyen avoids it well. Nguyen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kirk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kirk. Kirk keeps Nguyen at a distance using the push kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nguyen takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Nguyen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kirk, pushing him back against the cage. Kirk stalling.

Kirk displaying some good clinch control by pressing Nguyen up against the cage. Kirk looking to slow down the pace here. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by James Kirk. Kirk swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
James Kirk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nguyen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kirk regains half guard. Nguyen stalling away here and it's allowed Kirk to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Nguyen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Nguyen throwing strikes but missing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kirk wants to stand up but Nguyen is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nguyen trying to control the position from guard on top but Kirk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Michael Nguyen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kirk pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nguyen back to the cage. Kirk follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Nguyen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kirk's waist but Kirk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nguyen off to one side. James Kirk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Nguyen. Nguyen with a lazy takedown attempt and Kirk counters with a one-two to the body. Nguyen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kirk. Kirk lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nguyen will feel that in the morning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirk misses with the combination.
Kirk lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nguyen backs up against the cage.
Nguyen throws a body punch but Kirk moves out of range. Nguyen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nguyen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nguyen looks winded! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kirk wants to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nguyen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kirk dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
No joy there for Kirk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kirk moves out of range as Nguyen throws a body kick.
Nguyen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kirk. Kirk misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nguyen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kirk counters with a left and a right that stings Nguyen.
Nguyen is rocked! Kirk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nguyen tries to clinch but Kirk is having none of it. Nguyen throws a body kick that misses. Nguyen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kirk.
Kirk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kirk wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirk throws a series of strikes that have Nguyen backpedaling.
Nguyen is still on wobbly legs! Can Kirk finish him? Nguyen glances at the clock... BAM! Kirk nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Nguyen crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Nguyen is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Kirk!
